There’s a reason plant collectors everywhere are obsessed with the Alocasia Jacklyn (also known as Alocasia tandurusa). Its foliage looks almost artificial because of how intense the texture is—bright neon green leaves mixed with dark, bold veins and jagged edges.

Taking care of a Jacklyn isn’t as intimidating as it looks:

Light: Put it in a bright spot where it gets plenty of indirect light—near a window with a sheer curtain is perfect. Direct sun will burn those beautiful leaves.

Watering: Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. Make sure the pot drains completely so water doesn’t sit at the bottom.

Soil: Use a loose, airy potting mix so the roots can breathe (a mix of coco chips, perlite, and soil works great).

Humidity: They love humidity, which makes Karachi’s climate ideal for them most of the year.
